Gray Fox Farm will send you a vaccine after the breeding is paid for, it's just like giving a regular shot. You DO NOT need to pull blood on the mare before giving the vaccine. If your mare is imported from Germany and you don't want to vaccinate, then pull blood for a titer. There is an excellent chance that your mare is already immune to EVA and will titer positive. A positive titer just means that your mare has the antibodies and will not contract EVA. After giving the vaccine, keep the mare away from PREGNANT mares for 3 weeks. A barn isle is suffient. You don't need to do anything, no extra washing your hands, no bleach, no anything. After the first year you vaccinate, it's not necessary to pull the mare out of the herd to give the vaccine annually. It's very simple to vaccinate and remember there are stallions that are actively breeding that are positive and aren't advertised as such. You could be breeding to an EVA positive stallion and not know it.
